Abstract:With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology, its application in various industries continues to deepen. Higher education, as an important position for cultivating high-quality talents, has also ushered in unprecedented opportunities for reform. This paper takes artificial intelligence empowering the high-quality development of higher education as the research theme. Firstly, it expounds the core connotation and theoretical basis of artificial intelligence and the high-quality development of higher education. Then, it analyzes the current situation of the practical application of artificial intelligence in the fields of teaching, management, and scientific research in higher education. On this basis, 10 different types of domestic universities are selected as research samples, and through questionnaire surveys and data analysis, the impact of artificial intelligence technology application on the teaching quality, management efficiency, and scientific research innovation of higher education is empirically tested. The research results show that the rational application of artificial intelligence technology can significantly improve the teaching effect, management level, and scientific research output of higher education. Finally, corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to address the problems such as technical bottlenecks, ethical risks, and talent shortages in the process of artificial intelligence empowering higher education, so as to provide reference for promoting the high-quality development of higher education.
